Water Reclamation Facility #2 is a permitted 6.5 million gallons per day plant which has been in operation since 1972.

Through a series of underground piping and pumping stations, wastewater from the eastern and southern quadrants of Ocala is collected and transported to the treatment plant. After which it goes through the biological and chemical processes. The water is then distributed to land application sites and reused in irrigation for farms, city parks, three golf courses, residential and commercial properties. The residuals after the treatment process are de-watered and transported to the Michael A. Finn Water Reclamation Facility #3 to be further treated.
