Come out to Tuscawilla Park for BOBA (Beginning of Bolted Art)  on February 21, 2020 from  6 - 9 PM and experience an exclusive sneak peak preview ten new sculptures in the Biennial Ocala Outdoor Sculpture Exhibition!

The evening will feature self-guided tours, beer & wine, and hor d'oeurves by La Casella Catering. There will also be a live entertainment by classical crossover/rock artists Cello Fury with a special performance by West Port High School's orchestra and choir.

Tuscawilla Sculpture Stroll Celebration

Join us for the official opening of the Biennial Ocala Outdoor Sculpture Exhibition!

Celebrate the ten new sculptures in Tuscawilla Park with a day of fun! Enjoy a scavenger hunt, FREE family art activities, and food trucks. Live entertainment will be provided by local favorites and area school bands.

Vote for your favorite sculpture for the People's Choice award! Voting occurs from 10 :00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. All competition awards will be presented at 1:30 p.m.

This is event complimentary and great for all ages! 


Call for Entries - CLOSED

The City of Ocala Cultural Arts Office is placing a call for entries for the 5th Biennial Ocala Outdoor Sculpture Competition. Ten works will be selected for a two-year outdoor exhibition in Tuscawilla Park located in Ocala, Florida.

The City of Ocala Cultural Arts Office creates opportunities for public art to transform ordinary spaces into destinations. The goal of the Art in City Spaces program is to foster creativity, discovery and thoughtfulness among our citizens and visitors. 

This call is open to artists currently working and residing in the United States with experience designing, fabricating, and installing large outdoor Public Art. Each artist selected for the exhibition will receive a $2,000 honorarium to cover transportation, installation, and de-installation of the sculpture. Grand total of $24,00 in awards.

The deadline is August 30, 2019.

5th Biennial Ocala Outdoor Sculpture Competion

The Ocala Outdoor Sculpture Competition received 117 entries from across 21 states and Canada. A selection jury comprised of local community and art organization representatives selected ten sculptures to travel to Tuscawilla Park for a 20-month exhibit. The exhibit will have works made of sandstone, concrete, and a variety of metals and mediums. There will also be elements of movement and light in several sculptures with the inclusion solar power and kinetic motion.

Pick up a scavenger hunt brochure from the Recreation and Parks Administration Building, 828 NE 8th Ave., and enjoy exploring the new sculptures on exhibit. Bring your completed scavenger hunt to the Appleton Museum to receive FREE admission.
