Bill Kauffman became an Assistant City Manager in August 2015. He is responsible for the operations of the Finance, Budget, Procurement, Information Technology, Telecommunications, Utility Billing/Customer Service and Legislative Affairs.
Kauffman is a veteran senior financial and administrative manager with more than 25 years of executive leadership and fiscal advising experience. His previous experience with Marion County government includes: serving as Interim County Administrator, Assistant County Administrator and Budget Administrator. He was the principal advisor on policy decisions for the countywide budget, leading 21 county departments in the effective implementation of operational and capital improvements.
Prior to joining the government sector in 2008, Kauffman worked as a chief financial officer, reimbursement manager, administrator and director of operations for two Florida healthcare organizations. He holds Master's and Bachelor's degrees in business administration.
