Community Cultural Arts Plan

The development of a Community Cultural Arts Plan will bring together stakeholders, community members, and City Leaders to implement an overarching, coordinated, 10-year strategic Community Cultural Arts Plan. The plan will identify our cultural resources and include an evaluation and recognition of progress made to date, determine the “State of the Ocala/Marion County Arts”, and provide recommendations in several cultural arts areas, the feasibility of a cultural arts district, a marketing plan, and a funding policy that is economically viable.

The plan will:

  1. Identify our cultural resources, determine the “State of the Ocala/Marion County Arts” and recommend strengthening initiatives.
  2. Determine the feasibility of creating a cultural arts district in the Tuscawilla neighborhood with incentives for the development of retail, residential, live/work spaces and related enterprises.
  3. Include a marketing plan for the community’s Cultural Arts offerings, including cost and implementation strategy.
  4. Recommend a comprehensive City Cultural Arts funding policy that is economically viable. Public participation in the plan’s development through interviews and public meetings are key to its success.
