The City of Ocala Cultural Arts Office is placing a Request for Proposals for a selfie wall mural. The selfie wall mural will be located on the south facing interior wall of the Brick City Center for the Arts courtyard at 23 SW Broadway St, Ocala, FL. The concept must include the possibility for several people to be photographed at once.
The artist or team selected will receive a $5,000 honorarium to cover transportation and lodging, wall preparation, installation of mural, and final clear coating, materials, labor, and any other costs associated with artwork installation through completion. Honoraria will be paid half as a deposit upon contract execution and half after completion and final approval by City.
This call is open to artists currently working or residing in the Ocala/Marion County area with experience in mural work.

The City of Ocala seeks unique, thought provoking exhibits that are appropriate for a public City space where work will be viewed by citizens and guests of all ages. Only complete applications are reviewed. Viewer engagement, artist intent and originality of ideas, and use of media and technique are all considered when an application is being considered for approval.
The City of Ocala recommend that artist(s) plan on delivering a minimum of 20 works for a show in any of the City spaces. Spaces are available on a first come, first serve basis to approved applicants. The City of Ocala reserves the right to adjust the exhibit display in an effort to showcase the artist’s work in the best possible way.
Exhibits are typically three months in length. Spaces available for exhibits include:
- City Hall, 1st Floor Lobby, 110 SE Watula Ave., Ocala, FL 34471
- Recreation and Parks Administration Building (Conference Room)
- City of Ocala Adult Activity Centers
