Wildlands Nature Explorers Summer Camp

This fun, nature-based day camp is designed to educate and engage young learners about the natural world. Three different weeks of subject matter will be offered at separate times.

Ages 8 - 11

Monday through Friday | 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

$50/camper per week

Registration opens 2 weeks prior to each week of camp. Space is limited and is first come, first served. 

Hiking Adventures

Learn and explore the environment through hiking. Campers will learn the do’s and don’ts of hiking and Leave No Trace principles. They will hike local park trails and explore larger parks like Silver Springs State Park and Payne’s Prairie. While hiking campers will learn about animal observation and tracking. The week ends with a fun hiking and swimming trip.

Survival Camp

Learn the skills of survival and surviving in nature. This camp will cover tracking, wilderness safety, fishing, shelter building, building a fire and fire safety, foraging, cooking outside, and canoeing. All campers will get their own fishing pole to keep, and the week ends with a canoeing and swimming day.

Water Explorers

Water is more about swimming, learn about the watery ecosystems around us. Campers will build microscopes to learn about the hidden world of water. Discover the communities that call water their home like alligators and snakes. Learn about water ecology, learn how to canoe, and fish. Campers get their very own fishing pole and the week ends with a fun swimming trip.
