Cattle Drive and Cowboy Round-Up is Saturday, Feb. 9

OCALA, Fla. (Jan. 10, 2019) – The City of Ocala Recreation and Parks Department will host the Cattle Drive and Cowboy Round-Up event Saturday, Feb. 9 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Tuscawilla Park, 500 NE Sanchez Ave. This annual event is presented by the Rotary Clubs of Marion County.

A cattle drive will kick off the event in downtown Ocala and will end at Tuscawilla Park where the real festivities will begin. The cattle drive will begin at 10 a.m. near Jesse’s Computers and Repair located at 300 SE Eighth St. The public is invited and encouraged to walk behind the cattle drive to Tuscawilla Park.

The event will feature live entertainment, including national acts Chase Bryant, Dead Horses, Orphan Brigade and Jeff Martin, as well as cowboy demonstrations, authentic gunfighting re-enactments, pony rides, mechanical bull rides, family-friendly games and more. Food and drink, including adult beverages, will also be available at the event for purchase.

General admission to this event is free. VIP tickets are also available for $25 and include access to a front-stage viewing area for musical performances, access to the VIP Pavilion with restrooms and snacks, one complimentary beverage (soda or water), and more. Proceeds from this event will benefit the Discovery Center and will be used to purchase future exhibits. Proceeds from the 2017 Cattle Drive and Cowboy Round-Up were used to purchase Imagination Playground Blocks, currently available in the Discovery Center’s hands-on exhibit hall, providing learning opportunities in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math through interactive exhibits and programming.
