Free Parking Throughout Downtown Ocala Dec. 10 - Jan 1, 2019
OCALA, Fla. (Nov. 30, 2018) – To celebrate the holidays and support local businesses in downtown Ocala, the City of Ocala is providing free parking in all metered spaces Monday, Dec. 10 through Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2019. The parking meter rates of 50 cents per hour will not be in effect during this time. However, the time limit of three hours per space, for most spaces, will still be enforced. Normal parking operations downtown will resume Wednesday, Jan. 2.
“The City of Ocala is excited to offer free street parking to our residents and visitors this holiday season,” said John Zobler, City Manager. “We hope this will encourage folks to visit downtown Ocala, enjoy the festive holiday decorations and take advantage of the great dining, retail and entertainment options available.”
The parking meters downtown are normally in effect weekdays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. There are approximately 159 parking meters located throughout the downtown and midtown areas.
In addition to the metered parking spaces, free parking is available daily at the downtown parking garage located at 296 SE Broadway St. Residents and visitors are also encouraged to take advantage of the free valet service, which is located on the west side of the downtown square. The valet service is in effect Tuesdays through Fridays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 5 to 10 p.m., and Saturdays from 5 to 10 p.m.
