First Friday Art Walk Returns Friday, Oct. 4, 2019

First Friday Art Walk returns to downtown Ocala on Friday, Oct. 4, 6 to 9 p.m. and will include the following special performances and activities:   

  • 6 to 9 p.m. – Live music by Nino Castenada on the main event stage.

    • Dance performances during intermissions at 7:00 p.m. & 8:00 p.m. by the Benson Academy of Dance.

  • 7:30 p.m. – In conjunction with the movie series After Dark in the Park, the animated film, “Coco” will be showing at Citizens’ Circle.

  • 6 to 9 p.m. – Discovery Center, Appleton Museum of Art, Ocala Chippers, and Marion County Public Library, will provide free, hands-on art activities and demonstrations for all ages. Jessica Long will be offering face painting in the downtown square.

     

    For the month of October, the theme for the First Friday Art Walk is Día de los Muertos, inspired by the movie “Coco”. The First Friday Art Walk occurs from 6 to 9 p.m. on the first Friday of each month from September through May annually.  Located within Ocala’s historic downtown, event festivities include artist displays, live entertainment, free family art activities and extended shopping hours.
