Welcome to the Growth Management Department. The department’s commitment is to guide growth and change for the City of Ocala while maintaining quality of life for its residents.
The City's new “One-Stop Permit Center” was created in 2010 to help streamline the development review process. With one stop (email, call, or in person), a staff member will handle all your development-related questions and help you obtain either a permit, certificate of occupancy, or a plan approval.
In addition to the One-Stop Permit Center, the department includes the Planning and Building Divisions. Both divisions support the One-Stop Permit Center while providing quality short- and long-term planning and excellent customer care in meeting the needs of the building community.
The City of Ocala provides fiscally responsible
services consistent with the community's
current and future expectations.
City of Ocala Mosquito Control Update
Following Hurricane Irma, the City of Ocala is actively working to address mosquito control and areas of concern for residents. The City has deployed staff to immediately resume larviciding areas that are currently holding water due to effects from the hurricane. Along with Clarke Mosquito, the City is also spraying areas that have been investigated and determined to have a nuisance adult mosquito population.
