OCALA, Fla. (Nov. 20, 2009) - The Ocala Customer Service Office (CSO) has received reports that customers are being called and told that they have a very short time to pay their utility bills or their service will be cut off.
OCALA, Fla. (Nov. 9, 2009) – Live entertainment, crafts, food, children’s activities, a parade and a visit by Santa all will be part of the 26th annual Light Up Ocala, 2-8:30 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 21 at the Downtown Square.
OCALA, Fla. (Nov. 6, 2009) – City of Ocala administrative offices will be closed Wednesday in observance of Veterans Day. The holiday observance will not cause any disruption to the city’s residential or commercial sanitation collection services.

The Ocala City Manager is Ricky A. Horst, who assumed the position in September 2008. Prior to coming to Ocala, Horst served nine years as the city manager in South Jordan, Utah. He also has served as city manager in Lynn Haven and Marianna, Florida as well as in Santa Clara, Utah. Additionally, Horst has served as a Parks and Recreation Director, Public Works Director, and Utility Director.
Matthew Brower assumed the position of Assistant City Manager in October 2008. He oversees Utility Services, which includes the Electric Utility and Water & Sewer departments.
John Zobler is the Assistant City Manager in charge of Community Services. He is responsible for the Planning & Zoning, Building & Licensing, Code Enforcement, Neighborhood Services, Recreation & Parks, Golf and Fire-Rescue departments.
Bruce Phillips is the Assistant City Manager for Public Services and the City Engineer. His duties include overseeing the Engineering, Public Works and Facilities and Fleet Maintenance departments.
A major renovation project on the Ocala Golf Club (commonly cadlled "Muni"), located off East Silver Springs Boulevard, is now complete and the course is open for play.
Control tower at Ocala International Airport soon to serve aviators.
The Silver River Pollution Reduction Drainage Project is designed to improve the quality of stormwater runoff that flows into the Silver River.
