Planting and Pruning Trees
Ocala Electric Utility is on a three-year tree-pruning cycle. Pruning conforms to the American National Standards Institute as designated by the National Arbor Foundation specifications for the Tree Line City designation.
When pruning is properly executed, benefits occur such as reducing risk of branch breakage, preventing limbs from damaging utility lines, clearance for vehicles and pedestrians, can increase flowering and can often improve the health of the tree.
Choose the appropriate tree for your landscaping and know the mature height and spread of a tree since size varies by individual species and cultivar. If you don't know the full height and width of the tree you are planting, consult with your landscape specialist or a garden center.
