City of Ocala to Survey Residents on Quality of Life, Satisfaction with Services and Council Pay Adjustment
OCALA, Fla. (March 2, 2018) – The City of Ocala will survey a random sample of residents during the month of March to better understand their opinions on quality of life, satisfaction with City services and a salary adjustment for the Ocala City Council. These survey responses will help guide City Council and City staff in its decisions moving forward.
According to City staff, this eight-question telephone survey will take approximately three minutes to complete. Residents will be asked questions regarding quality of life, levels of service and how they receive information about the City. In addition, residents will be asked if they support the Council members receiving raises that would put their salaries in line with what other elected officials receive in comparable cities.
City Council members are currently paid $200 monthly, while the City Council President receives a salary of $250 monthly. City Council members have not received a salary increase since 1977.
