City of Ocala Residential Collection to Resume Wednesday, Sept. 13

OCALA, Fla. (Sept. 12, 2017) – City of Ocala business offices will re-open Wednesday, Sept. 13 following Hurricane Irma. The City of Ocala will resume normal household garbage and recycling collection Wednesday, Sept. 13. 

Residential collection regularly scheduled for Monday, Sept. 11 is expected to take place Wednesday, Sept. 13; collection for Tuesday, Sept. 12 is expected to take place Thursday, Sept. 14; collection for Wednesday, Sept. 13 is expected to take place Friday, Sept. 15; and collection for Thursday, Sept. 14 is expected to take place Saturday, Sept. 16. 

Waste Pro recycling collection for City of Ocala residents regularly scheduled for Monday, Sept. 11 through Thursday, Sept. 14 is expected to take place Wednesday, Sept. 13 through Saturday, Sept. 16. 

The City is currently working with its FEMA-approved debris management contractor to begin scheduling storm debris pickup. Residents are asked to separate storm debris into three separate piles: vegetative debris, construction and demolition debris (carpet, furniture, roof shingles, etc.) and electrical appliances. Please keep the street clear and open to traffic.
