Citizens Encouraged to Avoid Standing Water

Post Date:09/13/2017 11:09 AM
OCALA, Fla. (Sept. 12, 2017) – Due to large amounts of rainfall and flooding in certain areas of the community following Hurricane Irma, the City of Ocala strongly encourages its residents to avoid wading, fishing, swimming or playing in any standing bodies of water and/or retention areas. These bodies of water have the potential of containing various pollutants and raw effluent, due to the nature of the sanitary sewer system, which is subject to infiltration by stormwater.

For more information, please contact the City of Ocala Water Resources Department at 352-351-6772.
