City of Ocala Reports a Spill of Public Access Reuse Water

OCALA, Fla. (June 16, 2017) – Friday, June 16, the City of Ocala Water Resources Department experienced a spill of public access reuse water, which has since been contained. This spill occurred at the City’s Water Reclamation Facility #3 (WRF #3), located at 3125 SW 67th Ave. Rd., and involved approximately 2,000 gallons of public access reuse water, which is used for irrigation purposes. 

The water involved in the spill has been treated and presents no danger to the public or surrounding area. According to City officials, this spill was caused by a malfunction in a level sensor indicator in the reuse storage tank located at WRF #3. This sensor is expected to be replaced Monday, June 19.
