Ocala Emergency Alert

The City of Ocala as part of its expanding effort to provide fast and responsive emergency services during severe weather, terrorist attack, or other catastrophic event is implementing a new emergency alert system.

Ocala has chosen the OutReach 911 system, developed by EMTEL Corporation of Melbourne Florida, to provide emergency notification for the residents and businesses of Ocala. This system is currently used by the United States Army, and the United States Department of Education for notifying all of the nation's schools. EMTEL is developing sensor systems for all hazards that could threaten the lives and property of the American population.

In order for us to be able to notify you in an emergency, we must have your correct contact information. EMTEL has designed a Web site for you to modify the existing information we have and allow you to enter additional phone numbers (land line and cell) and unlisted numbers which will be kept confidential. The system also provides for the entry of e-mail addresses. We will notify you via e-mail when to check the Web site for pertinent emergency documentation or other emergency notices.

Please know, the information you supply will be kept confidential, and will only be used for the Ocala Emergency Alert system.
