Ocala Utility Services was created as a community-owned, hometown enterprise. Operated by local government, our goal is to provide electricity as a public service in a caring, yet business-like manner, and at a reasonable cost.
Local ownership means customer’s energy dollars stay in the community creating jobs and supporting the local economy. Municipal utilities make significant payments in-lieu-of-taxes to the city. This fiscal year, Ocala Utility Services will transfer approximately $11.5 million to the City of Ocala’s general fund to support community services, such as police, fire, street sweeping, street maintenance and recreation and parks.
With 1,136 miles of power lines in our 160 square mile service territory, we serve more than 50,000 customers in Ocala and Marion County. We appreciate each and every one of our customers and are pleased to continue providing uninterrupted power.
