The City of Ocala and Marion County are split between two Water Management Districts
The City of Ocala and Marion County are split between two Water Management Districts, the St. John River Water Management District (SJRWMD) and the Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD).
On May 19, 2009, the Board of County Commissioners approved an inter-local agreement with the St. Johns River Water Management District and the Southwest Florida Water Management District that updated the County’s Water Conservation and Landscape Irrigation Ordinance. The new update allows all City of Ocala Utility Services customers to follow the St. Johns River Water Management District watering restrictions as follows.
