The Inspection Division of the Engineering Department is comprised of one manager and nine project inspectors.

The Chief Construction Project Manager facilitates, manages, and coordinates the division duties. He assigns projects to each inspector and acts as the liaison between the inspector and the project engineer. He also provides field support and resolves many construction-related issues, concerns and questions.

The Construction Project Inspector performs field inspections of various construction projects throughout the City including contract projects, subdivisions, private developments, and right of way improvements. Primary duties are divided into four specific areas:

Inspection of new water and sewer infrastructure and alterations to existing systems, sanitary lift stations, storm water conveyance systems and drainage retention areas, pavement resurfacing and new roadway construction, new sidewalk construction, job safety and maintenance of traffic.

Documentation and daily record keeping of all construction related activities. Reviews and approves monthly pay requests.

Respond to citizen complaints. Coordinate and resolve controversies. Responds to uncontrollable events.

Coordinates and communicates with the Chief Construction Project Manager, Project Engineer, Project Specialist, Deputy City Engineer, and City Engineer.
