The Geographical Information System (GIS) division is responsible for locating, via GPS equipment, and mapping of all stormwater, water, and wastewater infrastructure within the Urban Service Area. We are currently in the process of a six month pilot project in which all the infrastructures within the one mile pilot area were located and a geodatabase created. This database will contain pertinent information that will assist other departments, as well as private engineering firms, in designing future projects and finding solutions to any storm or sewer problems that may arise. In the future, we envision the GIS maps to be available on-line for public use as well.
