The City of Ocala is expected to receive a CDBG grant of approximately $481,000 from the Federal Department of Housing and Urban Development for fiscal year 2009-2010. The City of Ocala will conduct a series of meetings as outlined below to consider proposals for uses of the Community Development Block Grant. Discussion of uses of $225,123 in HOME funds in partnership with Marion County will also be considered, as well as consideration of a new 5-year Consolidated Plan. All interested members of the public are invited to participate. The purpose of the Community Development Block Grant Program is to develop viable urban communities by providing decent housing and a suitable living environment, and by expanding economic opportunities, principally for low and moderate income persons.
