Ocala Municipal Arts Commission
The Ocala Municipal Arts Commission (OMAC) was established in 1961 by Ocala City Council to enhance cultural and artistic development. In June of 1962 OMAC was designated the official arts agency for Marion county by the Marion County Board of County Commissioners. OMAC provides mini-grants made possible by funding provided by the Florida Arts License Plates Program to individuals and organizations involved in the local arts community.

The Florida "State of the Arts" License plate was introduced in 1994 by the Florida State Legislature to raise funds for programming that benefits local arts and cultural projects across Florida.
At license plate renewal time, the plate costs $32 over the cost of your regular renewal rate. To purchase any other time, the cost is merely $32. $20 of the $32 the plate costs is tax deductible and gets returned back to the Ocala Municipal Arts Commission to be awarded as mini-grants to Artists and Arts Organizations that benefit the community by fostering the awarness and development of the cultural climate in Marion County, Florida.
